Office Administrator
AllisonAllison has been with Poquoson Veterinary Hospital since 1997, first working as a receptionist and now in the role of Office Administrator. A Newport News native, she graduated from Hampton Roads Academy in 1991 and studied Biology at Christopher Newport University and the College of William & Mary. After living in Washington, D.C., for four years and working at a metro area veterinary clinic, Allison returned home to be closer to her family. She now resides in Newport News with her big yellow dog, Wally (a Labrador Retriever), his tiny sidekick, Sandy (a Chihuahua) and their dog-loving kitty cat, Lumpy.
 

Receptionists

Nickey

NickeyNickey came to Virginia in September 2002 to join her husband at Langley Air Force Base.  He has since retired from the military and they have decided to make Hampton their permanent home. 

Nickey has been a veterinary receptionist since 1990 and has worked in four different states.  She spends most of her free time boating with her husband and her son.  The family shares their home two orange tabby cats named "Killian" and "Stoli".


Amanda

AmandaAmanda has been with PVH since 2002.  She grew up in Hampton and is a graduate of Old Dominion University

Amanda currently resides in Poquoson with her family including their two dogs, Chipper and Kelsie.

 
Tamie

TamieTamie began working at Poquoson Veterinary Hospital in 1997 as a kennel assistant. After taking a hiatus for a few years she returned to PVH as receptionist in 2007. At work, Tamie is known for her effervescent attitude and her obsession with animal print scrub shirts and the color pink.  Tamie grew up in Yorktown and is a Tabb High School graduate. She spends her free time raising her two children and playing with Levi the cat.  She also has two American Bobtail cats, Tanner and Chancelor.  Tanner broke his hip in March 2010 and thanks to Dr. Bailey, he is as good as new!  Also, she has a crazy yellow lab named Wrangler!  He loves to go for walks and to swim in the pool!


Mandy

MandyMandy joined the PVH team as a receptionist in November 2009.  Mandy came from Langley Air Force Base with her family in 2003 and became a permanent resident of Virginia.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Christopher Newport University and is currently in the nursing program at Riverside.  Mandy has 2 chunky kitties, "Roxy" & "Lola".

Sarah
Veterinary Assistant

Sarah V.Sarah is a native of the Tidewater area. She attended Virginia Tech for three years in the Animal Science program. After living in California and Florida for five years, she returned to the area in November 1999 and became a veterinary assistant at Poquoson Veterinary Hospital.  She is attending Thomas Nelson Community College with hopes of attaining an environmental science degree.   Her family includes her son, two cockatiels, two zebra finches, a leopard gecko, one fluffy cat and a large angelfish.


 
Tara
Veterinary Assistant
TaraTara is a Poquoson resident and has been with PVH since 2002. She is currently attending Thomas Nelson Community College to get her associates degree. She will then go on to acquire a degree in the medical field. Tara is also training to pursue her dream of becoming a tight rope walker. As an aspiring carnie she hopes to one day join the Ringling Brothers circus. She loves spending any extra time at the beach surfing or taking her Jeep off-road. She has two beautiful domestic shorthair cats named Sebastian & Stormy whom she loves very much.
 
Cathy
Veterinary Assistant
CathyCathy is a Virginia native and has been working at PVH as a veterinary assistant since spring of 2003. She is currently attending Old Dominion University in pursuit of Bachelor of Science degree. She owns three dogs and one cat: Sasha a Show Dog mix, Hurricane Cleo a Miniature Pinscher guard dog, Chaos an Akita and Rowdy the cat and she loves her pets way more than Tara.
 
Amy

AmyAmy is a Poquoson resident and native and she is a 1998 graduate of Poquoson High School.  She is now married with two boys.  When her boys are not keeping her busy, she likes to spend time with her cat, Sam.  She hopes that Sam will soon have a puppy with which he can play.  Amy is currently studying veterinary assisting through Penn Foster.  When Amy is not working at PVH, she enjoys singing at weddings and other functions, spending time with her family and chasing fish around the Chesapeake in their boat.  One day she wants to go swimming with dolphins.
