At Poquoson Veterinary Hospital, we use digital technology rather than film when we take X-rays. Digital technology allows us to adjust, magnify and improve our X-ray images so that we can see structures in better detail. Better quality X-rays help us better evaluate our patients. Digital technology is also safer for the environment and for our staff members.
Our staff is equipped to perform x-rays on any size pet, from a small parakeet to a large Great Dane. With digital technology, we are able to take and process quality radiographs quickly, allowing our veterinarians to observe problems that may not be visible with just a physical exam.
Our digital X-rays may be electronically transmitted to radiology specialists for review when needed. We also offer x-rays for submission to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) for breeders interested in this service.
