Barbara received her Bachelors degree in Biology from Christopher Newport University in 1994 and then went on to get her Associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Blue Ridge Community College in 2000. Barbara started working at Poquoson Veterinary Hospital in January of 1998. Barbara enjoys all aspects of her career because of the variety of tasks presented to her every day but she especially likes the nursing care part of her job. Working with injured, sick and surgical patients is where she excels. She also enjoys working with wildlife and fostering orphaned animals. Barbara has four dogs, a black lab named Charlotte, two Chihuahuas, Suishy and Sugar, and a Papillion named Juicy. She also has two cats, Birdie and Grace, which she got when they were one day old. When Barbara is not working she likes to garden, sew, do crafts, spend time outdoors enjoying nature, and go to the beach. Barbara also makes pet bandanas that are for sale in the Poquoson Veterinary Hospital waiting room.
